Nerves means you care

Last year I volunteered for a mentoring program to help close the gap in education between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian highschool kids.
It was the best thing about uni and it had NOTHING to do with my actual course. (Fine Arts)
The team leader who was an Indigenous Australian olympian athlete, Kyle Vander Kuyp,
always said that "Nerves means you care."
He said that before every race he felt butterflies in his stomach and he said to himself- "Hi guys I knew you'd be here today." He said that its not just normal to feel nervous, but also positive because then you know you really do care about what you are doing and whether you succeed or not.

I thought this was the best.thing.ever.

Normally in school they talk about tests and results and becoming an adult and leaving school and getting into uni and getting job and having a career.........etc etc
But they fail to give people the confidence to be nervous and to care.

bahahahah I should stick to drawings.

Anyway my point was going to be that- I am nervous about doing a market stall on sunday and trying to sell some artwork, clothes, shoes, whatever can be sold in my hoarders nest of a bedroom.

If you are Australian and interested in the mentoring program or just showing support:
